Sisters of Service  fromally known as 280 Ladies was founded in 2014 after a group of friends (who lived off of Hwy 280) decided to do something about the growing number of homeless women, men and children in the Birmingham area.  Our four (4) founders worked in diverse professional arenas but all noticed a significant lack of street based services for Birmingham’s most vulnerable population.  As we they opened up their hearts and minds and began to utilized their individual professional expertise to strategically plan and implement efforts in becoming a service to the community.

Pooling our individual resources together, Sisters of Service have been providing mobile soup kitchen services directly to homeless individuals on the street as well as supporting feeding and clothing services in Birmingham’s homeless shelters.

Now with more than 30 members we have feed over 500 women, men and children and our constantly monitoring our progress and the gaps in homeless services to insure that the needs of the community are being met.  We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service with compassion, integrity, and dedication.

Now more than ever your help is needed.  Feeding the homeless, providing them clothes and essential hygiene goods is bigger than the Sisters of Service…. It’s a hands on community effort. Give the gift of love and hope, it’s fun and it feels so good.
